Issue 60 - The Female CEO

Summer is not a slow season. Anyone who tells you otherwise has never actually tried to use it well.

The days are long, yes — but long days have a way of slipping through your fingers just as fast as any others, unless you decide, specifically and without apology, what you are doing in full.

Created by the team behind The Female CEO, this global digital magazine now welcomes over 7,000 new readers every single month — women from all over the world who found their way here, to a community built around one simple but radical idea: that every woman is one decision away from her next chapter. And that decision? It is always available.

Issue 67 is called In Full. Not as a rallying cry. Not as an invitation to do more, push harder, or add another item to a list that already has too many. In Full simply means: if you are doing it, do it completely. If you are in, be in. Stop doing things in half, by default, by habit, by whatever the week threw at you before you had time to choose.

This issue is about the women who have stopped waiting for better conditions. Who looked at the season ahead and decided that later, actually, is now.

Our cover star is April D. Jones, Founder and Principal of Jones Law Firm, PC, one of Colorado's largest family law firms, built from nothing over twenty-five years. April spent years learning to give the room only as much of herself as it was ready for. She stopped. And the rooms now book her because of it.

What a way to begin a summer issue.

The invitation is simple. The days are long. The moment is here. Do it or don't do it. Just pick. And once you pick, go all in.

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

HER BUSINESS | EDITORS LETTER

It is a Thursday evening and I am sitting with April Jones's interview in my hands.

I've read it twice. I'm about to read it a third time, which is unusual for me as I am not, historically, a woman who does things slowly. (Ask anyone who has ever tried to have a leisurely lunch with me. I'll be on the second agenda item before the bread basket arrives.)

But there's something in this interview I keep coming back to.

THE REST TEST: LEAVE THE DESK. CHANGE EVERYTHING.

HER BUSINESS  | THE STARTUP SESSIONS

Let me tell you how I justified leaving my MacBook at home.

Not because I deserved a break. Not because the research said so (though it does — more on that in a moment). I left it behind because I was genuinely worried about it getting wet near the spa facilities. That was the logic that worked. A 46-year-old business founder...
