The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

There's a book by Deepak Chopra called 'The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success', which gave me the inspiration for this month's article.

Success! Something that every living soul strives for - yet there is no one definition of what success actually is; it's something different for everyone. Most of us have grown up believing that we have to work hard, be intensely ambitious and have innate determination to succeed, but there's a problem with this approach. We have already placed so much pressure and expectations on ourselves and took on a feeling of struggle, exhaustion, and being out of balance before starting the journey to make things happen.

The seven laws teach that you do not need to struggle to achieve but just to Flow.

Here's how to implement these into your business ( + life) to create the success you want.

The Law of Pure Potentiality

This is when you are at your highest self and fully connected to the universe. You know that the universal energy is in you, around you and with you. You trust, believe, and know that everything is possible and the energy is pure, so you manifest everything you want without any blocks.

How do you apply this Law?

1. Meditation
2. Be in nature
3. Practice being non-judgemental

The Law of Giving and Receiving

Open yourself to receiving compliments, gifts, smiles and anything else positive and say thank you. In return, give back smiles, affection, love etc. Keep the channels of giving and receiving flowing in your life so that you are always open to abundance

How do you apply this Law?

 1. Give compliments to people you meet, share your joy and positive energy
2. Open to receiving from others gracefully so that the universe knows that you feel you are worthy of abundance
3. Keep abundance circulating in your life by giving and receiving

The Law of Karma (Cause and Effect)

Whatever thoughts or energy you put out to the world, you get back — good or bad. You have to embody and be worthy of those things to get what you want. It's the concept of what you reap, you sow. For example, if you want love in your life, be loving toward yourself first.

How do you apply this Law?

1. Be fully conscious in the present moment and aware of the choices and thoughts you have
2. Whenever you make a choice, ask yourself two questions:
- What are the consequences of this choice?
- Will this choice bring fulfilment and happiness to me and those affected by this choice?
3. Ask your intuition for guidance and see if you get a good feeling or bad. If it's good, then know that it's ok to move forward. If it doesn't feel right, look a little deeper and see how/if this choice has consequences for you and others.

The Law of Least Effort

Accept the things you cannot change, stop fighting against what is happening, and stop worrying and feeling anxious about the future. Life is unpredictable at times, and forcefully trying to control the outcome of events is fighting against what is meant to be and what the universe has in store for you. So let go and just allow.

How do you apply this Law?

 1. Accept people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur. Know that this moment is as it should be because the whole universe is as it should be. Accept things as they are now, not as you wish they were.
2. Take Responsibility for every part of your life and all those events you see as problems. This means not blaming anyone or anything for your situation (including yourself). See every problem as an opportunity in disguise, and make the best out of it.
3. Let go of the need to defend your point of view and the need to persuade others to accept your point of view. Just be open to all points of view and not be rigidly attached to any one.

The Law of Intention and Desire

Your intention is the key to achieving what you desire. By combining desire with intention, you have all the things you need to get what you want. This power then helps the universe to shape your future.

How do you apply this Law?

 1. List all the things you want in your life and look at this list before you meditate, before sleeping and when you wake up in the morning.
2. Let go of how and when your desire comes to you. Also, trust that when things don't seem to go your way, there is a reason and that the universal plan is much grander than even those you have for yourself
3. Be in the moment as much as possible. Don't allow negativity to have control over you. Accept the present as it is, and manifest your future by setting your intentions and desires.

The Law of Detachment

The way to get anything from the universe is to give up your attachment to it. This doesn't mean you give up the intention to create what you want, just that you give up attachment to the outcome. The moment we do that, the universe opens up all the paths for us to get what we want.

How do you apply this Law?

 1. Allow yourself and the people around you to be who they are. Do not impose your idea of how things should be or try to fix things only to create new problems.
2. Accept uncertainty. Be confident in the knowledge that the more uncertain things seem to be, the more confident and secure you are becoming
3. Be excited about all possibilities, and have fun, adventure and magic along the way.

The Law of Dharma

Dharma is an Indian word that means the evolutionary pulse of the universe, and it refers to what is your role within the world. If you think of the universe as one complete whole, of which you are a part of it, and as a result, you have a specific role and purpose that somehow serves the purpose of the universe as a whole.

How do you apply this Law?

 1. Set your intention to live the day on purpose, remaining conscious of your energy and connected to your soul.
2. List all the things that bring you joy
3. Keep an attitude of being in service to others
