What Really Matters Going Into 2026
By Tricia Scott.
As we step further into 2026, I’ve been reflecting, not on goals, resolutions, or the pressure to do more, but on what’s actually helped me keep going while building something deeply personal.
These are 26 things I’ve learned (and relearned) while running a business, leading a community, and figuring myself out in public.
Take what resonates. Leave the rest. Stick the ones you need to hear twice to the fridge.
Here we go...
You are allowed to evolve.
The version of you who started doesn’t have to be the one who finishes.
You don’t need permission to pivot.
Not from your audience. Not from your industry. Not even from past-you.
Rest is not a reward for productivity.
It’s a requirement for sustainability.
You can build a successful business without burning yourself out.
I promise. I’ve seen it.
Clarity comes from action, not overthinking.
You don’t need the full plan — just the next honest step.
You’re not behind.
You’re building something that actually fits you.
Consistency beats intensity every time.
Small steps, taken regularly, change everything.
Being visible will feel uncomfortable — and that’s okay.
Growth often does.
Not everyone needs access to you.
Boundaries protect your energy and your work.
Your worth is not measured in revenue months.
You are still a CEO on the quieter ones.
You’re allowed to change your offer.
Your business should grow with you, not trap you.
Comparison is a thief — especially online.
You’re seeing highlight reels, not the whole story.
Your voice matters, even if it shakes.
Especially then.
You don’t have to do business the “right” way.
There are many ways to succeed. Choose one that feels aligned.
Time is your most valuable asset.
Spend it like it matters — because it does.
Support isn’t a weakness.
It’s leadership.
You’re allowed to outgrow people, platforms, and plans.
Growth requires space.
Momentum comes from finishing things.
Done is powerful.
You don’t need to be louder — just clearer.
The right people are listening.
Joy is a valid business strategy.
So is ease.
Your nervous system sets the pace.
Regulation > rushing.
Confidence is built, not born.
And it comes from keeping promises to yourself.
You can be ambitious and gentle with yourself.
These things are not opposites.
Your story is part of your leadership.
Visibility is impact.
You’re not meant to do this alone.
Community changes everything.
You are not too much. And it is not too late.
Read that again.
If 2026 is about building something that finally fits you, you’re exactly where you need to be, and I am beyond thrilled that we get to journey with you.
I believe in you (always).
