The One Thing Win
By Tricia Scott.
It's Monday morning somewhere in the world right now. Which means, sometime this morning, probably while simultaneously making coffee, answering a WhatsApp message, and mentally redecorating your office (just me?), you're going to open a planner, a notes app, or a Trello board and start listing everything you need to do this week.
And the list will grow. It always grows.
What I've come to believe over the years is that most of us don't have a productivity problem. We have a prioritisation problem. The week ahead isn't short on tasks (and don't we know it) — it's short on clarity about which ones actually matter.
There's a difference between important work and work that just feels urgent. They wear the same outfit. They show up with the same energy. But only one of them is actually moving your business forward — and not to spoil your cuppa, but it's usually the one you keep bumping to next week.
So before you write that list, ask yourself one question: If nothing else happened this week, what's the one thing that would make it a win?
Not ten things. Just one.
Then build your week around that. Let the inbox wait. Let the admin stack. Let the "should do" list sit on the shelf until the one thing is done.
Look around — the entire world is busy rewarding busyness. Full calendars passed off as proof of progress. It's nonsense.
The women building amazing things aren't the ones doing the most. They're the ones doing the right things, and they don't need a schedule packed tighter than a designer bag sale to prove it.
This week belongs to you. Use it accordingly.
I believe in you (always).
