The Visibility Vow: Why Staying Quiet is No Longer an Option

By Tricia Scott.

We’ve all heard the phrase “work hard in silence and let your success be your noise.”

That is some of the worst advice I’ve ever heard.

In the world of global business, silence isn’t a virtue; it’s a hiding place. As someone whose life’s work is to be an amplifier for women across the globe, I see the “Visibility Gap” every single day. It’s that space between how incredible you actually are and how much of that the world is allowed to see.

When I decided to launch a podcast, I knew I wanted it to be world-class. And as an amplifier, I know that my job isn’t always to hold the microphone; it’s to ensure the microphone is on, the stage is set, and the right voices are broadcast to the world.

That’s why I brought in a professional, the incredible Mark Sephton, to host this journey with me.

You see, what I’ve learned over the years is that you don’t have to be the “everything” to be the “someone.” Sometimes, the most powerful way to be visible is to be the visionary who brings the best people together to create something louder than you could ever achieve on your own (trust me, this was not a lesson easily learned).

3 Lessons from the Control Room

As I’ve watched Mark interview some of the most inspiring women from every corner of the map for this first season, three truths became crystal clear:

  1. Investment is an Act of Intent: By bringing in a professional host and building a high-calibre production, I’m telling the women we feature, and the women listening, that their stories are worth the highest quality. Visibility shouldn’t be an afterthought; it should be an investment.
  2. The Power of the Pivot: I’ve sat “backstage” listening to these interviews, and I’ve realised, more than ever, that visibility often requires us to step out of our comfort zones. Whether you are the one being interviewed or the one building the platform, you have to be willing to let go of control to let the magic happen.
  3. The Ripple Effect: Every time Mark asks a question that unlocks a story of resilience from a woman in business, a light goes on for someone else. We aren’t just making “content”; we are creating a frequency. When one woman steps into the spotlight, she inadvertently lights the way for ten more.

A New Kind of Intentionality

As you move through this next month, I'd love you to ask yourself: “Am I being seen by the people I am meant to serve?”

Visibility with intention isn’t about being famous; it’s about being found. It’s about making sure your light is bright enough to act as a lighthouse for your community.

In four days, we are pulling the lever on this project. An addition that’s been a long time coming - another platform dedicated to the voices that deserve to be heard at maximum volume. I’m not sharing this because I want to sell you a feature; I’m sharing it because I want you to hear what happens when women decide to stop playing small and start taking up real, tangible space.

Your Challenge

Do one “visibly uncomfortable” thing. Don’t worry about being the “host” of every situation. Just focus on being present. Post the “unfinished” thought. Pitch the “big” idea. Speak up in the meeting where you usually just take notes.

The world is waiting to hear from you. Don’t make them wait any longer.
