The Bravest Decision You’ll Ever Make (And Why It Matters)

By Tricia Scott.
I see you.
Staring down your laptop with the kind of existential fatigue usually reserved for Oscar winners and toddlers coming off a sugar high.
You've been "fine." You've been "grateful." You've been "making it work", you're also bored out of your brilliant mind and low-key fantasising about a mysterious, wildly different life where you grow lavender in the South of France, and people actually read your out-of-office emails.
I've said it before, but I'm gonna say it again... You're not broken. You're just burned out from pretending the sensible choice was your only option.
You're not lazy. You're not lost. You're just done with doing the thing that looks good on paper but feels like sandpaper in your soul.
Maybe you're asking yourself: "What do I even want anymore?" And not in a cute, "ooh I can't decide between the rose or the blush" way. More like, "I'm 45 and Googling 'how to reinvent your life without having a f*cking breakdown.'
First of all, welcome. You're in excellent company.
Second, let me offer you a gentle reframe: This isn't a crisis. This is a clue.
This itch you can't quite scratch? This longing for more meaning, more you-ness, more stretch in your days and sparkle in your eyes
That's your ambition calling.
Not that sandpaper-y (totally a word), gritty, sleep-deprived, hustle-and-perform ambition 🤢
The kind that whispers, "there's more available to you than this.
We've been taught that quitting means failure. That changing paths means we made a mistake. That joy is some kind oflast hurrah reward you earn after 40 years of loyal service and an underwhelming gold-plated retirement watch.
I'm calling bull💩
Joy is not irresponsible.
Quitting is not shameful. And starting over or changing course? That's not weakness; it's the bravest move in the game.
So if your soul is starving for something different, try this:
Don't commit to a passion. Commit to a curiosity.
Try a thing. See how it feels.
Try another. Let it surprise you.
Because dabbling is not a detour; it's a divine breadcrumb trail.
You are not behind. You're at the edge of something beautiful.
A new season. A new you.
And you don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to walk toward what's calling you.
One bold, delicious step at a time.
I believe in you (always)
