The Art of Riding the Entrepreneurial Rollercoaster

A couple of weeks ago felt like a full-on sprint. I came back from holiday straight into the launch of Issue 59, co-hosting Ann English’s brilliant Celebration of Imagination event, revealing her cover to a room full of dream makers, and then sharing my own entrepreneurial rollercoaster at North Star networking. 

By Friday, I was running on adrenaline and very strong coffee - but my heart? Completely full.

As I sat down to write this Biz Love letter, I realise that creativity doesn’t live in one place.

Sometimes, it shows up in the slow days - the gentle ones filled with sea air, siestas, and endless space to think. Other times, it’s sparked by the high-speed weeks, when amazing opportunities stack up and you have to lean in, strap yourself into the rollercoaster, and just ride.

Both matter. Both fuel you in different ways. The slower pace lets ideas germinate. The faster pace pushes you to expand, to stretch, to see what you’re capable of. And isn’t that the entire point?

We wouldn't want to live at either end of the spectrum all the time; we need a balance of ideas and action to grow, much like watering or feeding a plant, allowing it to nourish the soil so it can bloom. (It turns out we humans are just complex houseplants!) 

So if you’re in a season of stillness, let it nourish you. If you’re flying at full speed, trust that the momentum will light you up in ways rest never could. Either way, you’re right where you need to be (and remember to drink your water!)
