First, lift your foot

By Tricia Scott.

“In order to kick ass, you must first lift up your foot.” – Jen Sincero

It’s a good one, right? The kind of quote that makes you want to leap up and do something bold… except sometimes the only thing I’ve kicked all week is the TV remote to get it closer ← True Story

Here’s what doesn’t make the motivational posters:

Before we move mountains, we have to shift our weight.

Before we become unstoppable, we have to start

And sometimes that first step looks less like a power move and more like:

– finally replying to the email that’s been haunting your inbox
– opening your banking app without holding your breath
– saying “I need some support” instead of pretending you’re fine
– booking the call you’ve been avoiding
– letting go of the thing you’ve outgrown (even if it’s your logo... or your limiting beliefs)

Lifting your foot doesn’t have to mean quitting your job, launching a course, or going live before your morning coffee (God forbid). It means refusing to stay rooted in the same spot just because it's familiar.

That’s what we forget: action isn’t about being fearless - it’s about being willing.
Willing to move.
Willing to risk.
Willing to ask.
Willing to believe that support counts as momentum.

This is the work. The messy, magical, micro-movement that eventually kicks ass.

So, if you’ve been standing still on something that matters, consider this your call to rise. Not with perfection. Not with a five-year plan. Just with the courage to lift your foot and take one honest, deliberate step.

Because momentum doesn’t start with mastery. It starts with movement.

You don’t have to kick ass alone. But you do have to lift your foot.

I believe in you (always).
