Christmas Tarot Pick a Card: What Does This Festive Season Hold for You?
Pick a card, any card. This festive tarot reading offers three messages for the season: appreciate how far you’ve come, enjoy the moment you’re in, and stay open to what comes next.
Christmas is just a month away, so rather than spending this article telling you how to manage your festive season, set better goals or make another list of things you should be doing, I thought we could do something much more fun.
Let’s have a little Christmas tarot reading.
Whether you already love tarot cards or you have never had a tarot reading before, a pick-a-card reading is wonderfully simple.
I have chosen three cards for you.
Before reading any further, take a moment and choose: Card One, Card Two or Card Three.
Don’t overthink it.
You might immediately feel drawn towards a number. One may simply stand out more than the others. Trust whichever one catches your attention first.
And if you feel drawn towards more than one card, that’s absolutely fine too. Sometimes there can be a message for you in both, so read them and see what resonates.
Ready?
Let’s see what Christmas could hold for you.
Card One: Nine of Pentacles
If you chose Card One, your Christmas message is the Nine of Pentacles. And what a lovely card to receive at the end of the year.
The Nine of Pentacles is about abundance, independence, achievement and appreciating what you have created.
Your message this Christmas is to stop for a moment and recognise how far you have come.
We are very good at reaching one goal and immediately looking towards the next one. There is always something else to achieve, improve, earn, change or manifest. But this card is asking you to look around.
What have you created this year that once existed only as an idea?
Perhaps something changed in your career or business. Maybe you became stronger emotionally. You may have walked away from something that no longer suited you, created better boundaries, started something new or simply handled a year that required far more from you than anyone else realised.
Abundance isn't only about money. It can be freedom, time, confidence, friendship, health, opportunities or simply feeling more comfortable being yourself.
Your Christmas energy is about receiving and appreciating.
Enjoy the meal. Accept the compliment. Open the present without immediately worrying whether you bought them enough in return.
Let somebody do something lovely for you. You've spent enough time building. Christmas may be inviting you to enjoy some of what you've built.
Card Two: The Sun
If you chose Card Two, you have pulled one of the happiest cards in the tarot deck: The Sun. Quite appropriate for Christmas, really.
The Sun represents joy, warmth, optimism, connection and allowing yourself to be fully present in the good moments. And that last part may be particularly important for you.
Your Christmas message is very simple: Enjoy it while you're in it.
We spend so much of December organising Christmas that sometimes we barely notice Christmas happening. There are presents to buy, messages to answer, food to organise, people to visit and that mysterious annual belief that somehow everything must be completed before 25 December.
The Sun asks you to step out of that for a while.
There may be moments of genuine happiness available to you this Christmas: laughter, connection, affection, celebration or simply one of those ordinary little moments that unexpectedly becomes a memory. Don't rush past them.
This card can also bring a feeling of things becoming lighter after a difficult or confusing period.
Something you have been worrying about may begin to feel less heavy. You may receive good news, reconnect with someone, enjoy unexpected company or simply realise that life feels brighter than it did several months ago.
You don't need to analyse every good moment.
Sometimes happiness doesn't contain a hidden lesson. Sometimes you're simply supposed to enjoy it.
Card Three: The Star
If you chose Card Three, your card is The Star.
And this feels especially beautiful as we approach a new year. The Star is associated with hope, renewal, inspiration and believing in possibility again.
Your Christmas message is about looking forward.
Perhaps something hasn't happened this year in the way you expected. A relationship didn't develop. A plan changed. A goal took longer. Life redirected you somewhere you weren't originally planning to go.
The Star reminds you that a different route does not mean the destination has disappeared.
There is fresh energy around you.
This is a lovely card for manifestation because it asks you to reconnect with what you genuinely want without becoming obsessed with exactly how it must arrive.
What would you love to experience next year? Not what should you achieve. Not what would impress everyone else. What would actually make you happy?
Allow yourself to think bigger again.
The end of a year can make us focus on everything we didn't manage to do. The Star asks you to turn around and look towards what is still possible.
There is more ahead of you than behind you.
Your Christmas Tarot Message
Whichever card you chose, there is a lovely theme running through this Christmas tarot reading.
Nine of Pentacles: appreciate what you've already created.
The Sun: enjoy what is happening now.
The Star: stay open to what comes next.
Past. Present. Future.
Perhaps that is the perfect energy to carry through the festive season.
Take a moment to appreciate this year without judging everything you didn't achieve. Allow yourself to actually enjoy the people and moments around you. And when your thoughts begin drifting towards the New Year, don't make it another enormous list of things you need to fix.
Start with possibility. Because manifestation isn't only about constantly chasing the next thing.
Sometimes it's about recognising what has already arrived, enjoying where you are and remaining open to what might still surprise you.
And if you chose more than one card? Go back and read the other one.
You were drawn to it for a reason.
