Anyone Know What Day It Is?

By Tricia Scott.

Anyone know what day it is? (Asking for a friend.) We’re in that limbo-like space between Christmas and New Year where routines have now completely dissolved, time feels pretty much optional, and chocolate has basically become a food group.

This week doesn’t ask much of us. And that’s kind of the point.

The last few days, I’ve been sitting with this quote: You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.

Because this in-between space isn’t still, is it? It's actually full of feeling.

Leftovers from the last year.

Relief. Fatigue. Gratitude. Disappointment. Hope.

All soup-ing around together, without a neat label (which feels rude, because I love a neat label). And the invitation isn’t to control any of it but to stay present while it moves.

Surfing this week doesn’t mean pushing forward or pulling back. It means staying balanced long enough to notice what’s still with you… and what’s slowly loosening its grip.

Step back. Listen.

Because, without the noise of deadlines, goals, or “what’s next” energy, rife at this time of year, you might start to sense what you want more of in 2026 — not as a plan, but as a feeling.

More ease.

More clarity.

More bravery.

More visibility.

More alignment.

More space to breathe.

No pressure to define it yet. No need to act on it.

Just noticing is enough.

Let this week be a bridge, not something to rush across, Indiana Jones style (you can tell I’ve been watching a lot of Christmas TV, can’t you?)  but something to stand on for a moment.

A place where you can rest and allow yourself to imagine a future that feels brave, expansive, and yours.

January will arrive soon enough. The waves will keep coming.

For now, stay on the board. Let yourself wobble. And trust that you’re already moving in the right direction.

I believe in you (always).
