Over to you Dr Missy…

SO, DR MISSY, WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

I am a Fearless woman with a courageous heart. I stand bold and authentically in my truth after surviving a sixty miles per hour head-on collision, afterward being in a coma for forty-seven days and during that time diagnosed with Stage 3C breast cancer a few years ago. I am a survivor, and I fight.

YOU HAVE OVERCOME MANY HURDLES IN YOUR JOURNEY TO BECOMING A WOMAN OF INFLUENCE, DO YOU THINK, WHILST PAINFUL AT THE TIME IT HAS HELPED TO MORE FULLY UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES FACED BY THE WOMEN YOU SERVE TODAY?

Absolutely yes! Most women carried emotions internally with little space to exhale. It is vitally important that we carry and cover each other on this journey and show our emotions, so the next women know she is not alone.

Realising that for business growth you need both business know-how and the right energy behind it is how I serve my clients every day.

WHO DO YOU ADMIRE AND WHY?

Dr. Maya Angelou. She was a woman of resilience and transparent in her truth. Dr. Maya Angelou cared about women learning from their experiences and teaching us to love ourselves with our flaws.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE CRITICISM?

Criticism is a resource tool because there is always a lesson to be learned. One I can do better or secondly; it is the personal perception of who I am. I learned to stand in my truth and not take it personally.

YOUR LIST OF ACHIEVEMENTS IS IMPRESSIVE TO SAY THE LEAST, WE LOVE TO CELEBRATE FABULOUS WOMEN HERE AT THE FEMALE CEO! TELL US SOMETHING YOU’RE PROUD OF THAT WE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT

Learning to love my husband is something I am very proud of. As a child, I knew Jesus loved me, but I did not know how to love me. Learning to love my husband after many adversities in my life was something; I am excited and proud to call him my husband finally. That was huge for me.

AMONGST OTHERS, YOU WORK WITH WOMEN TRANSITIONING FROM THE CORPORATE WORLD INTO THEIR OWN BUSINESSES. WHAT ONE FUNDAMENTAL PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN READING THIS ARTICLE IN A SIMILAR POSITION?

Follow your heart. Listen to your soul. The world is waiting for you to show up. It was never about you anyway; your gifts and talents are to help others.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?

Success is leaving everything I learned in life on the table, share it with the world, and help another woman create the life she desires.

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN ONE WORD

FEARLESS

WHAT HAVE YOU FOUND DIFFICULT ON YOUR JOURNEY?

To let others relationships, go. Everybody is not paddling the rowboat with you; some people want to sit and watch.

WHAT’S YOUR TOP TIP FOR OUR AWESOME FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS READING THIS ARTICLE?

Share your story. Write a book. So many women are extroverted at work but introverted at home. I encourage women to find a community that supports their dreams, goals, and vision. Be authentic and tell your truth.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE NON-WORK-RELATED THING TO DO?

Travel and study other cultures. Diversity is very important.

WHAT’S THE NUMBER ONE PLAYED SONG ON YOUR IPOD?

There is a miracle with your name on it.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE?

That I am on assignment to change the world and I am built for this, and I am not scared.

DO YOU HAVE A BOOK OR FAVOURITE PODCAST RECOMMENDATION FOR OUR FEMALE CEO MEMBERS?

I love many books and podcast. Breakout by Joel Olsten is one of my favourite authors.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED?

She created a movement of Fearless Women Rock all over the world that I showed women that being fearless and courageous is where you find your freedom.

WHAT MAKES YOU TRULY HAPPY AND HOW DO YOU HANDLE DOWNTIME?

When a woman tells me that you inspired me to changed my life is what makes me happy. My downtime is taking vacations with my husband and thinking about my next project to conquer.
