A vision board is a visual representation of all of the things you want to bring into your life and the way you want to show up. In its simplest form it is a collection of images, together somewhere you can see it that makes you feel positive about the future. In short, a vision board reminds you of where you want to be and the experiences you wish to create along the way. Not to over simplify though, make no mistake this is powerful stuff. That board represents your dream life it should excite you in a tummy butterflies at a rave sort of way.

International Women’s Day 2019 marks the start of an exciting year-long campaign working towards a gender balanced world. This isn’t a women’s issue, its an issue for everyone. Everyone has a part to play, every day at all times and times are changing. A shift is happening and 2019 is the perfect time to reinforce and push forward with the positive changes already afoot.

We live in a time where more than ever the world expects balance. When it’s lacking we notice, we use our voice and current events are proving that those cries no longer fall upon seemingly deaf ears. Balance drives a better, fairer working world and we are on board for the long haul.

Before I share my top 3 secrets on how to write content that engages and sells I would like to tell you a story. I never, ever imagined, not even in my wildest dreams that I would, one day sit in front of a computer and write an article about teaching others how to become better writers. I always thought I was a mediocre writer. In fact, I was a 4.5 girl at school.

4.5 was my writing mark out of 10 in Italian literature and essays writing. My handwriting was unreadable. I remember writing from the moment I could hold a pen between my fingers. The writing was a way to escape to other worlds and not accepting the reality I was living in as a child.

Weaving your personality and individual style through all of your content, is the perfect way to shout from the rooftops what you’re all about. Documents, marketing materials, social media graphics, eBooks, the list goes on, and when you create visual consistency across the board, your perfect customers begin to know, like and trust you even more quickly. Never underestimate the feelings that images, words, colours, fonts, layouts, etc., can invoke in others – we are visual creatures after all! Part of my work as an online visual stylist, is to help clients connect with who they are right now, outside of the businesses they run, so we can incorporate those unique tastes and passions into the styling of the content they create. When it comes to the practical design element of this work, my go-to tool is Canva.

Nowadays, in today’s digital visual age, the majority of our communication modes are being switched to video and of course now that social media is becoming the hub for all of our news and professional networking, it's no surprise that, as a business, utilising digital platforms with personalised direct introductions is the way forward if you really want to get as much engagement and opportunities as possible for your business. We are all living such busy hectic lifestyles now that attention spans are getting shorter, this makes it essential that we find ways to work around our audience and stand out as bold as possible in our market with greater industry credit.

The importance of business branding

Branding is so much more than just your logo. Jeff Bezos said, “Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.” There’s two parts to branding - the visual side of it, which includes your logo, colours, fonts, photographs and graphics and then there’s the essence of your brand. This includes your brand experience, values, mission, core message, positioning, voice, personality and more. So why is it so important to get your business branding right from the offset?

Here the wonderful Holly Ellis of Holly Ellis Design talks us through why you need good quality, consistent branding for your business.

If you're considering quitting the 9-5 in favour of being the boss then one of the questions to ask yourself is how ready are you? Remember when we talked about excitement vs passion? Well, that's just one of the considerations when making a decision that has the potential to change your life and that of those closest to you. You need to be sure you've thought it out and you're well equipped to make the move.

Heres a couple of questions to ask yourself before jumping in.

I get it, I’ve been there and have said to myself many a time ‘I just want to get to the point where I can go to any shop I want, at any time of the day or year, and be in a position to buy what I want. I want to move away from adding up the pounds and the pennies to see if I have enough to buy it considering x, y & z is coming out of my account this month.’ or ‘Why is it that so and so entrepreneur has only been in business for five minutes and is showing others how to have 6 figure months and can do it in six minutes? Why am I not as far forward as that yet?’

Guest blogger and Confidence Collective coach Natalee Tucker talks busting our money blocks step by step.

When life is busy, or all your precious energy is focused on a special project, it's all too easy to find yourself off balance and not paying enough attention to important areas of your life. While you need to have the drive and focus if you're going to get things done, taking this too far can lead to intense frustration, stress and a lack of clear overall direction.

They gave me a fucking negative review? What??

We’ve all been there, you’ve done your best bent over backwards, gone the extra 100 miles and that client STILL gave you a negative or neutral review. WTAF?!

You feel like chucking the towel in, I mean what else could you possible do for these people? Pass the wine!! But wait. Put the cork back in the bottle. No seriously, PUT IT BACK and read on...
