Remember, we don't play small in this arena. It’s time to work.

PR is what other people say about you.

Think about it.  If you walk into a party and keep telling everyone how amazing you are, they will probably switch off and talk to someone else. If you walk into that same room and the rumour is you are a brilliant photographer, it won’t be long before everyone is asking for you to take their picture so they can post it on Facebook for all the likes.

Now, it’s when the media start talking about you in this way that things get interesting and it’s where PR comes into play.    Whilst PR encompasses a range of areas, including corporate, internal and crisis communications, social media management and community relations, media relations remains a key activity.  I’m Natalie, one of your Guest Editors and I’m here to be your very own PR ninja, walking you through the art of great PR and how to do it for yourself. Is money on your mind all of the time? Do you find that there is always more month than money? Do you feel stressed, worried or anxious and feel that you don’t really know where your money goes? For any of us, our relationship with money isn’t where it should be some of us don’t respect it or we try to hide from it. Others use it to hold power over others or take crazy risks and some see it as a solution for personal issues and fears or are waiting for some miracle to happen to rescue them from their financial difficulties. Sound familiar?

I’m Ilana Jankowitz and I’m a certified Money Coach born and raised in South Africa and currently residing in Zurich. My work is all about identifying behavioural patterns around money, transforming negative thinking and moving from a self destructive mindset to one that is positive and inspiring. I am passionate about helping women to break free from self doubt, low self esteem and lack of self confidence and move towards financial liberation. Are you ready?

Well, even if you are ready to spend some budget on it let’s be sure that your site is ready for it too. At the end of the day an impressive number of your site visitors doesn’t impress you at all if none of them have clicked on “contact us” button, right?

Every month Path to Healing therapist Janine Wirth is here to answer one of our community questions. Have a question you need an answer to? Drop her a line at with the heading 'Ask the Female CEO' This month we are talking all things visibility related.

Dear Janine,

There are days where it feels like I'm in absolute flow and I don't even realise time passing and then there are days where I feel like everything is just 'off', I hardly get anything done and feel like just throwing in the towel. What's up that and what can I do to change it?

VIDEO, it is everywhere you go!

Did you know that video is now the main communications platform and medium in which we source our content from? Not one day goes by that don’t consume any type of video content. The whole world is going visual, even the majority of content we see on social media is becoming video based.  So why is this?

Dear Janine, I'm a coach and want to improve my visibility online so that I can reach my ideal clients and build my customer base. I know exactly what I want to say, but then chicken out and can't seem to bring myself to push the start button.

how to lose weight by understanding your money story

It may sound a strange thing to say, but your money story isn’t just about money. Everything is intrinsically linked and, in addressing the story that has shaped you allows you to change how you show up in every part of your life.

How do I know? Because it happened to me.

By understanding my money story, I lost 16kg in weight.

A vision board is a visual representation of all of the things you want to bring into your life and the way you want to show up. In its simplest form it is a collection of images, together somewhere you can see it that makes you feel positive about the future. In short, a vision board reminds you of where you want to be and the experiences you wish to create along the way. Not to over simplify though, make no mistake this is powerful stuff. That board represents your dream life it should excite you in a tummy butterflies at a rave sort of way.

International Women’s Day 2019 marks the start of an exciting year-long campaign working towards a gender balanced world. This isn’t a women’s issue, its an issue for everyone. Everyone has a part to play, every day at all times and times are changing. A shift is happening and 2019 is the perfect time to reinforce and push forward with the positive changes already afoot.

We live in a time where more than ever the world expects balance. When it’s lacking we notice, we use our voice and current events are proving that those cries no longer fall upon seemingly deaf ears. Balance drives a better, fairer working world and we are on board for the long haul.

Before I share my top 3 secrets on how to write content that engages and sells I would like to tell you a story. I never, ever imagined, not even in my wildest dreams that I would, one day sit in front of a computer and write an article about teaching others how to become better writers. I always thought I was a mediocre writer. In fact, I was a 4.5 girl at school.

4.5 was my writing mark out of 10 in Italian literature and essays writing. My handwriting was unreadable. I remember writing from the moment I could hold a pen between my fingers. The writing was a way to escape to other worlds and not accepting the reality I was living in as a child.

Weaving your personality and individual style through all of your content, is the perfect way to shout from the rooftops what you’re all about. Documents, marketing materials, social media graphics, eBooks, the list goes on, and when you create visual consistency across the board, your perfect customers begin to know, like and trust you even more quickly. Never underestimate the feelings that images, words, colours, fonts, layouts, etc., can invoke in others – we are visual creatures after all! Part of my work as an online visual stylist, is to help clients connect with who they are right now, outside of the businesses they run, so we can incorporate those unique tastes and passions into the styling of the content they create. When it comes to the practical design element of this work, my go-to tool is Canva.

Nowadays, in today’s digital visual age, the majority of our communication modes are being switched to video and of course now that social media is becoming the hub for all of our news and professional networking, it's no surprise that, as a business, utilising digital platforms with personalised direct introductions is the way forward if you really want to get as much engagement and opportunities as possible for your business. We are all living such busy hectic lifestyles now that attention spans are getting shorter, this makes it essential that we find ways to work around our audience and stand out as bold as possible in our market with greater industry credit.

The importance of business branding

Branding is so much more than just your logo. Jeff Bezos said, “Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.” There’s two parts to branding - the visual side of it, which includes your logo, colours, fonts, photographs and graphics and then there’s the essence of your brand. This includes your brand experience, values, mission, core message, positioning, voice, personality and more. So why is it so important to get your business branding right from the offset?

Here the wonderful Holly Ellis of Holly Ellis Design talks us through why you need good quality, consistent branding for your business.

If you're considering quitting the 9-5 in favour of being the boss then one of the questions to ask yourself is how ready are you? Remember when we talked about excitement vs passion? Well, that's just one of the considerations when making a decision that has the potential to change your life and that of those closest to you. You need to be sure you've thought it out and you're well equipped to make the move.

Heres a couple of questions to ask yourself before jumping in.

I get it, I’ve been there and have said to myself many a time ‘I just want to get to the point where I can go to any shop I want, at any time of the day or year, and be in a position to buy what I want. I want to move away from adding up the pounds and the pennies to see if I have enough to buy it considering x, y & z is coming out of my account this month.’ or ‘Why is it that so and so entrepreneur has only been in business for five minutes and is showing others how to have 6 figure months and can do it in six minutes? Why am I not as far forward as that yet?’

Guest blogger and Confidence Collective coach Natalee Tucker talks busting our money blocks step by step.

When life is busy, or all your precious energy is focused on a special project, it's all too easy to find yourself off balance and not paying enough attention to important areas of your life. While you need to have the drive and focus if you're going to get things done, taking this too far can lead to intense frustration, stress and a lack of clear overall direction.

They gave me a fucking negative review? What??

We’ve all been there, you’ve done your best bent over backwards, gone the extra 100 miles and that client STILL gave you a negative or neutral review. WTAF?!

You feel like chucking the towel in, I mean what else could you possible do for these people? Pass the wine!! But wait. Put the cork back in the bottle. No seriously, PUT IT BACK and read on...
