NO GYM? NO TIME? NO PROBLEM!
A massive warm welcome to The Virtual Wellness Studio with me, Melissa Jones.
Im so happy you’re here! For those of you who don’t already know me from my blogs and articles, allow me to introduce myself. I am Melissa Jones, I am a Mama to my favourite little human Amber, passionate fitness advocate and coach. I have a diploma in sports nutrition and my Passion is helping women to believe in themselves, feel empowered and amazing and achieve their personal goals through fitness and mindset, learning to love the skin we’re in and stop punishing our bodies and our minds. If you’d like to connect or have any questions, please reach out – I’m here to help.
Why did I become an at home coach? I have always had a passion for fitness and nutrition and loved going to the gym. After I had my daughter, I was unable to get into the physical gym (clingy baby, breastfeeding mama) so I had to find another way to continue my fitness journey this journey has allowed me to fulfil my dreams and I want to help you to do the same thing.
5 REASONS YOU SHOULD TRY YOGA
I’ve never been a one for slow moving and stretching. I like my workouts to get my heart rate up, get me sweaty and make me feel like I’ve really worked. Ive always been intrigued with yoga and I’ve wondered why it was so popular. I’ve tried it at home on a YouTube video but It just wasn’t for me. A few months back I decided to go to a class and give it a try and I fell in love! It challenged me in a whole different way.
HAS DIET CULTURE STOPPED YOU FROM LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE?
Saying no to after work cocktails to go to the gym, missing out on events because you don’t feel comfortable with how you look, being so hungry but not eating because you’ve consumed your daily 1200 calories that you think you need to be eating. Not eating that chocolate bar you so desperately want and will make you feel so happy inside…

5 WAYS KEEPING FIT AND HEALTHY CAN BOOST YOUR BUSINESS
As a fitness entrepreneur its easy for me to keep fit, after all its my business! I do however understand that I can be difficult to add something else to your busy schedule but trust me, its so worth it. Many clients I speak to say they just don’t have the time. And I always ask, what’s your favourite tv programme? I’ll soon learn that many people spend 2-3 hours on an evening watching TV. Ah, so you do have time? It’s not about time its about whether you are making it a priority, if it matters you will MAKE time. And I suggest you do, because it can do so much more for you than losing a few lbs. it can impact your life in hugely positive ways, and here’s how it can positively impact your business too!
WHY FITNESS FOR THE MIND IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS FITNESS FOR THE BODY
We are told to keep our bodies healthy, keep fit and eat well but what about fitness for the mind? I’m a massive advocate for fitness for the mind. I fully believe you can’t have a fit body without a fit mind!
Our minds are so incredibly powerful and actually will seek out negativity more than positivity. As humans, we often focus on the bad more than the good. How often do we look in the mirror and pick at our faults rather than our strengths? Nature has designed us that way, our brains are trained to instinctively look for negativity for survival reasons but we rarely need that instinct any more so it’s even more important to train your brain as well as your body. Some people are naturally more positive and some are naturally more negative (like me) which means we have to work just a little harder on our mindset.
WHY I’M TAKING A MORE HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MY HEALTH
I usually write things about fitness but I am going through a bit of a transitional season in my life. Fitness is still a big part of my life but I’m taking more of a holistic approach to health and that is what I wanted to talk about here rather than bombard you with fitness tips every month.
I truly believe there are many factors that contribute to health not just fitness and eating well. So I want to chat to you about all things health not just fitness so I hope that’s ok?
